Hare Krsna Dear Parents,
It’s the end of week 4 and we are nearly at the mid point of the term. Just a few reminders and updates about what is coming up this term.
Next Thursday we are going to the Massey Badminton club. Please remember to send the consent form and the money ($4.50) back to school by Monday. I will email the letter about the trip to everyone in case it has been lost or someone was away and didn’t get it.
On Wednesday 21st June we will visit Bruce McClaren Intermediate School for the Science Roadshow. A visit to the Science Roadshow is a fun, exciting and interactive learning experience of science for children. It includes live shows and hands-on exhibits that broaden students knowledge of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. There is an entry fee of $8 for this event, plus transport costs. I have not yet calculated the transport fee but will do so soon and let you know the full cost as soon as possible. Entry is free for any parents wishing to come with the class, so check your calendar and join us if you can.
Invention Homework Projects
I hope their homework projects are going well. I think it’s a fun research topic and look forward to hearing about what they find out. I would guess they would be nearly finished Part One of the project by now. If not, please support your child to manage their time well to make sure all parts of the project are completed.
Books and Drama Box
Just a reminder if anyone does have any books to donate to our class library shelf they are most welcome and appreciated! So too for the drama box.
Today I gave out the requirements for this terms inquiry project about Endangered Animals (an individual project for this term, which we will start next week).
As a class we debated whether everyone should research a different animal or whether it was ok if two or more people studied the same animal. There were good reasons given for both but the majority of the class wished that everyone studied a different animal then we would learn about a larger variety of animals when they shared their projects.
So can you please remind your child that by Monday they have to bring a list of their top three endangered animals of choice to study. We will then have a random draw and somehow work it out so no one is studying the same animal.
Have a great weekend,
