Hare Krishna Dear Parents,
Welcome back to Term 2. I have just moved house this last week so things have been very hectic (still unpacking all the pots and pans). So, please forgive my late start to the newsletters …now that the move is compete I will be sending out your weekly news as normal!
Lord Narsimhadeva’s Appearance Day – Tuesday 9th May… Children can wear devotional dress to school or their school uniforms where we will be doing lots of activities around the festival.
A word about Homework!
Readers sent home should be returned the next day so that they can get a new reader. Please return with the protective bag so that they will not get damaged.
Writing their names…this needs to be practiced regularly with the letters given each week.
I have sent a fresh spelling/reading checklist for you to use for this term’s spelling homework…please use this for the whole term…checking off as they can read and spell the words.
There is also a number tracer which shows the correct positions for practice. Please help them write their numbers by practicing them in their Homework Practice Books. Please regularly practice the position and direction language as children often get these confused. Use dolls or objects to show position and ask questions like …”Can you put the doll inside the box” etc.
In Math I have sent some suggested activities for the different ability levels. Please keep these sheets handy so that you can refer to them and give them the suggested activities to practice in their Homework Practice books.
Practice Homework Books…when these are full please tell your child to ask for a new book. These books can be used for practicing writing, handwriting, math, drawing etc.
